Inspection Dataset License Agreement


1. Introduction

This license agreement (“Agreement”) governs the download and use of the Steel Surface Inspection Image Dataset (“Dataset”).
By downloading, accessing, or using the Dataset, you (“User”) agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement and the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

2. License

The Dataset is made available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Under this license, you are free to:

  • Use the Dataset for any purpose, including research, education, and commercial applications.
  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the Dataset.

These rights are granted worldwide and free of charge.

3. Conditions of Use

Use of the Dataset is subject to the following conditions:

Attribution (BY)

You must:

  • Give appropriate credit to the original creator(s) and source of the Dataset.

  • Indicate if any modifications or adaptations were made.

4. Feedback and User Engagement

To support continuous improvement and monitor dataset impact, registered users agree to:

  • Provide feedback on their experience and results derived from using the Dataset.
  • Complete a short feedback questionnaire upon completion of their initial use of the Dataset, which will be distributed after registration.

The feedback collected will be used solely for research improvement, reporting, and quality assurance purposes, and will not be used for commercial or marketing activities.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Dataset is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
The creator(s) or provider(s) shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Dataset.
